TOPIC: Cover page 'designer'

I'm very glad to have the ability to design my own cover page, but I cant be the only one who finds the designer very clunky and frustrating. The large incremental jumps in size, inability to click and drag to resize, and photos and other elements do not actually align to the grid. As far as 'design' goes, this is pretty bad. I will set things up and they seem to align, only to find that once i generate the report there are all kinds of little lines and borders that I can never seem to get rid of. Super frustrating for someone who wants to dive in and really customize their cover page beyond boxes, lines, and text. Maybe its just a sell for the custom cover pages, but a few small changes would make this feature a whole lot better and easier to use.

The designer is really meant to have the main graphics create in something like Photoshop and inserted as a layer and then text with variables inserted for the rest. This makes using it extremely flexible and is how our designers make custom designs. Even though it took over a year to design, it's definitely not Photoshop itself.

The lines and borders are likely from the images you're inserting itself. The adjustment from the Pixel ratio on your screen to one on a PDF and web report isn't exact as they're not the same so we do have to make some approximations. You can use the slider on the left after selecting an object to scale it as well.

We make no money on the cover designs, and actually lose on some of them as the average job takes 10-15 hours between design and communications with the inspections. It's just there to help guys create a better looking design if they don't have the time.
