I'm using the TREC template for Texas and trying to find a way to insert multiple tabs under a single heading for multiple appliances, for example HVAC: heatings systems 1, heating systems 2 etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Kevin,
Unfortunately TREC is strict in its layout and doesn't allow for new headings to be added. What most TREC inspectors do is just list the system number, room name, etc as part of the comment. For example you take a photo of each unit and caption them Unit 1 and Unit 2. Then in the narratives you can say something like: "SAFETY CONCERN: Holes observed in furnace vent pipe. Repair as needed. Unit #1." The nice thing here is if the narrative is relevant to multiple units you canjust list them after the narrative and that will cover each unit instead of replicating the comment on the report with only a separate unit on it. The other option is to insert a narrative that says Unit #1 and select all the relative narratives, then put Unit #2 and and select all those. The first method though creates shorter more condensed reports.
