I've decided to scrap the idea of altering others' templates (and some are quite good, IMHO) to suit my way of inspection reporting.
I have the main shell outlined in my own template, but have several questions before preceding any further. The biggest hurdle is getting customized narratives into HIP. I've read as many of the topics as there are (but maybe I missed the one about narratives?) and they all point towards having two copies of HIP running side-by-side and copy/pasting from one to the other. The custom narratives I want to use are in .xml format, but the Temp directory in HIP where narratives are stored have all the coding dialogue included, as well. Do I need to add all of the coding to my customized narratives, or am I completely barking up the wrong tree on how to incorporate new narratives? Any detailed comments (as in, "open document A>>>paste into document B") would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

To add new narratives into HIP you should just be clicking on Add Comment within HIP. There's no need to be manually editing files!
