I'm trying to find an advantage to using selection panels, besides having a larger viewing window for choosing comments. Being able to modify comments for one-time use seems like it would trump the larger viewing window, except maybe in HIP Mobile, as long as you don't accidentally send a comment over to the red box (where something like the style of roof would end up in the summary). I'm curious....Does anyone use only (or mostly) damage panels throughout their template?

Selection panels allow a different color, different item separator and item description. They are usually for materials, manufacturers, etc. Basically things that are facts.

The disadvantage of using selection panels is, that if you have a picture for that section in the report, the selection panel does not allow for picture placement - it least up to HIP 3.... I still use some selection panels, but have eliminated many of them. I like to place pictures of i.e Bedrooms, and they would be under the selection panel of # of bedrooms. I do that especially for clients who are not at the inspection, or for the buyers buying "site unseen".

Selection panels are for what Dominic stated...They great for descriptive info...often with two across the top and then a damage panel below.
If you want to add pictures....Lets say under a section tiled INTERIOR, make your first Tab a Damage panel title VIEW |
