I like many of the new templates and would like to incorporate them into my standard one. Is there a way to merge two independent templates into one?

There is no really streamlined way, but it can be done without too much difficulty.
Open the two side by side and go to edit template in both. Create new menu items and tabs with idential selection and damage panels in the template you want to add to, referencing the names of the menu items and tabs in the second template. Then in both the templates, go to each identical tab. Click in the selection or damage panel you want to copy from and hit "Ctrl-A" and then "Ctrl-C" to select and copy all the comments in that panel. Click in the template panel you want to copy to and click "Ctrl-V" to paste those comments into the destination panel. Repeat the copying and pasting as needed. The only thing you can't copy is the lists if there are any inserted into the comments. Those you have to recreate one at a time. |

A little laborious. I was afraid of this.

Yeah, I don't know if Dom has that in his sights for a future improvement. I've found it isn't all that much work when most likely you will want to change some of the tab names or the panel names anyway. With only a few clicks more and you've created it from scratch. I doubt there is very much of the original template I started with still left in my main template.

Greatly appreciate the encouragement. I guess this is tomorrow's task. Thanks.

Cameron covered it well. There's automatic way to merge templates right now, but two templates side by side and copying goes pretty quickly. It's something that we've discussed in the future but there's a lot of other features on the to list that have a lot more votes for them right now.
