Any suggestions on how to modify the title page (i.e. spacing, formatting, inserting pictures)? I'm a new user and can't seem to find any options to change anything about the title page layout except entering the client and company data that is asked for. I see how to change the font, header, and footer but I would like to add some spacing between the lines and/or add a picture on this page. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There's probably an animated tutorial for this subject which will do a better job than I can, but I'll give you the info I know. The layout is definitely limited compared to other parts of the report. Nothing can be moved around and most of the formatting of text is limited or absent. I believe Dom is going to be changing some of that in the future.
The first photo you insert into the photo pages at the top left of the first tab is automatically the cover photo. Some guys put in a photo of the front facade of the inspected property, I put in my company logo. You could just have a photo of text which you want on the cover or any combination of the above. You can also add a logo, or for that matter, any photo you want by going to the "Report Settings", then "Company Logo". It is a smaller photo over the top of the main photo. Neither of the above photos can be resized as far as I know. In the "Other Info" box on the Client Info page you can enter any info you want including spaces and blank lines but the text is always going to be centered. Also you would have to type out whatever you want in the "Other Info" box in a different program because it does not have a scroll function. All you can see is three lines. One other note, you cannot format the text in any other way, color, font, etc. The options window has several other choices, but you probably have seen those based on your post. Just think outside the box, don't use certain boxes and areas for the exact thing they were made for, get rid of borders or background colors by making them white, and if you are really tricky you can use the hidden HTML button in the footer area(next to the font size drop down) to maybe add a photo to that section too. I've never tried that yet, but I know the height of that section is limited. That's about all that I can think of but some other guys might have some ideas. |

Yep, I've had issues with this too. No way to change the layout and that is very frustrating. Everything is jammed up together and it looks crappy and unprofessional in my view. I would much rather have a "cover page designer" feature with which I can roll my own. My own titles, fonts, formatting and graphics WHERE I want them.
I understand that this may have been designed for the "not so computer literate" user but there are those of us that don't fit that "square hole". Us "round pegs" want to write our own stuff. : We want it all and frys too!! |
