TOPIC: How to move a menu item into another menu item?

Hi Everyone,

First "official" post.  That's because all of you have done such a fine job passing on help through this forum that I have not needed to post a question! ;D  Thank you for that!  But I can't find the answer to this.  Under "Menus"/"Utilities" I have Electrical, Plumbing, Water Heater, Heat A/C.  I would like to move "Water Heater" along with its existing Selection and Damage Panel contents under a new tab (called Water Heater) within the "Plumbing" menu.  Is this possible and if so, how?  I am being totally lazy here and just don't want to have to redo all of the water heater selection and damage info.  And it seems like this should be doable.  Thank you in advance for any assistance you can offer!

While in the Edit Template window:  If you already have  "Water Heater" in your "Menus" section, then you select the "Plumbing" menu. On the right panel you highlight "Water Heater" tab. At the bottom, you select "Move/Copy"
(it deafults to "move"), then from the "Select the new location to move this tab" drop-down menu, i.e. "Water Heater", Hit "OK". DONE!

Note: you must have "Water Heater"  built into your "Menus" first.

Do exactly what Serge said if the issue is with a tab as you described. I have a feeling though that you might be meaning to say you want to move an entire page (has a dot to the left of it in the menu). If this is the case, just drag/drop the page to another menu under Edit Template.

If you are trying to move or copy within the same section as I believe you are describing. (If water heaters is in the plumbing section) you can not do from edit template within same section.

What I do is copy to another section, then move it to the desired section, place were I want in section and delete the duplicate section.

Hey Dom I often want to move and copy to the same section like adding a sub panel, Is there a way to do this that I am missing??

Thanks for the replies!  But we're not quite there yet.  Let me try to describe what I am trying to accomplish again from a different appraoch.  In the HIP menu bar at the top you have (among others) Outside, Structure, Utilities, Interior Areas etc.  When I click on Utilities, my choices are Electrical, Plumbing, Water Heater and Heat A/C.  What I would prefer is to move the Water Heater choice inside of Plumbing as a new tab choice.  So when I click on Utilities my choices would only be Electrical, Plumbing and Heat a/c.  But when I click on Plumbing, I would have Water Heater as a tab choice and (in the perfect happy world) it would still have all of its selection and damage panels.  I can certainly just build this within plumbing, it just seems that I ought to be able to move or copy/move Water Heater without having to start all over.  I hope this makes sense?  Thanks again for the great input!

Toby, Sorry I misundertood your post. Let's see if I get it now:

When you click on Plumbing, how many tabs do you want to be water/heater-related?
(for what it's worth -- I use only 3 water heater tabs (attached))

How many tabs are there in your Water Heater choice under Utilities, now?

Under Edit Template:  "COPY" desired tabs/items from Water Heater
to “• Plumbing”.   Once you're happy (rearranged items as needed) — you  "Remove" the “• Water Heater”  menu.

Don’t forget, in the program menu, use the “Copy” and  “Paste” buttons along the top bar, to rearrange/combine info in selection/damage panels to your liking—(CTRL-A will highlight all lines)
