Hello,
I will be completing my Home Inspector course this weekend, have been on line and looking for software programs that will suit my needs. I have a mac os and would like to use my ipad in the future...will this program work with this device? I am a newbee at this and was wondering if this program is intended to take with you in the field or back at your office when the report is completed. Do I take a generic report to fill out then bring back or take my computer with me to the job? Thanks! |

I use Home Inspector Pro software with a Samsung Q1 in the field.(7 inch screen) I am 95% done in the field. I take 35-75 pics. At home I file transfer to my desktop 20 inch screen. I add photos, edit and proofread. Then I email to my client. There are others that complete on site. The CTL2 is the most popular computer, 10 inch screen. I have one but I am working on the hyandwriting recognition and stylus pen settings. ( No one really has taken the time to help me with this and I will work on myself) There are inspectors here that can save you time and money including myself. I am more than glad to help if I can. I have a post on field notes that I made with HIP on this board. It worked when I needed it. |

Thanks David for the information, unfortunately I use a Mac. I will just have to take the old laptop and see how well it works for me in the field!
Thanks again for the response. Jeff Collier |

Hi Jeff,
Most of our mac users take a mac laptop or a windows tablet with them. A few guys use the only mac tablet, the Modbook (axiotron.com). The iPad is a consumption device. Great at reading books, websites, listening to music, etc. But it's not a good content creation device. It only has 256 megs of ram, a 1ghz processor and runs the same software as the iPhone that just isn't enough to be batch adding photos and running the program efficiently. You can transfer it to your Mac at home to finish it up later. Check out the CTL2go tablet from ctlcorp.com. |
