Looks good Mike. Definitely looks like a house that had some problems though! 2 page summary, wow!

Great report Mike. It's the first chance to see the whole report and I do mean "the whole report."
I need to see everything unfold in the sections before I can get a feel for the software...this is perfect. I've been adding then deleting, deleting then adding but I have to settle on something that I'm comfortable with. I do have clients ask for a shorter report and the length of your report would kill some of my older snowbirds. What would it look like if you used the continous mode to shorten the report? I prefer the complete inspection report because I use a lot of hyperlinks to files on my web site.... www.jdinspections.net Now I'm fired up to get my software where I want it to be and to possibly put on the new shoes of better software and use the old software for backup...to many holes in the soles. I guess what I was saying is that I'm not a great fan of change when there is a comfort zone with the old software...you know what I mean.
I started out changing everything to make it work and look like the old software...wrong move and a waste of time. I get it now. Sometimes peanuts, sometimes shells. Dan |

Dan, don't worry, at least half of the people who start using Home Inspector Pro from another program do the exact same thing. Some people really want the report to look very different from the default template, for an example of that, check out the report Russ uploaded. Some people want the report to look exactly like what they used before. That's fine too, and shows the power of the template editor. You just need to make sure that what your old report looked like really was good and it's not just a comfort zone like you're saying. I've seen LOTS of guys switch from paper reports with tons of check boxes that spend several days trying to create something similar only to realize that the paper reports really aren't what they should be copying.
It's awesome to see how each person makes the program their own! |
