TOPIC: Cracked brick veneer

Cracked brick veneer 10 years 1 month ago #59248

Hello folks,

First time posting a question... and would like comments with the cracking of the brick veneer. These cracks are located on the side of a front porch near a downspout without an extension allowing the surrounding area to become saturated. There is no access to the underside of the porch. In addition to writing this up as "recommend further evaluation by licensed contractor, or mason", what can I tell my client.

Thanks you,
Bill

You can tell them differential settlement due to poor drainage and built up landscaping. Proper exterior water control advised!!
Crack needs to be sealed, downspouts extended and built up landscaping removed to create a proper drainage plan away from the building.

Oh that looks like poured in place concrete, NOT veneer. Big difference!!
