I know that a condo/townhouse requires a 5/8" drywall 1.5 hour firewall in the attic in California. Question: does it require the framing to be drywalled on each side? Can framing be exposed on one side with the drywall on the other?

I believe the requirement is for both sides of both walls. be 5/8 Type X.
The framers have to rock the inside of the "sandwich" when they set the trusses. |
