I enjoyed Greg's post about ice dams that I thought I'd fire up another one. This is a 1940's home that is having some new siding put on (another lovely discussion!)...note the ice dam on the front entry porch roof, it was a good 14-16" thick, may have been more.
My next picture is from underneath after the siders had taken off the soffit. Hum...looks like there may be a problem here...;D Third picture shows a little more of the issue...the new roof is framed just over the old and there is water dripping off those shingles right into the ceiling. Please refrain from comparing me to Mike Holmes...I just was in the right place at the right time for this one! ;D |
