Check out the crack in the casing, (Leaks of course). No abnormal corrosion at interior, no visible physical damage to the unit. Any idea how these cracks occur? Possibly something large or hard that was put down the drain? Are you seeing it on the same brand of disposal, maybe it's a defect in the unit.

Not sure about the brand consistantcy. It must be some sort of failure in the unit housing. It's always in a newer unit and has that extremely clean crack configuration.
