Couldn't find any recent threads on this subject...
I stay away from repair estimates for obvious reasons, but I was recently told by an agent friend of mine, who works in a geographical market that I'm trying to get into, that her market EXPECTS repair estimates in home inspection reports. She did admit that it has caused problems for her, but insists it's necessary in her area. So I'm torn between starting to add estimates or just starting marketing in that city without doing estimates, basically saying "take it or leave it." I know for a fact that one of the most experienced and successful inspectors in that area includes repair estimates. Any thoughts? |

Check with your E&O carrier. It's illegal in some states and your insurance might not cover you if you do it. Make sure they're okay before you start.

I'm in Virginia. Good point about the E&O, too. Thanks!
