TOPIC: Becoming a Home Inspector in the State of Nevada

Becoming a Home Inspector in the State of Nevada 13 years 4 months ago #43085

Are there any state requirements?
Or is it like Calif?

I have a friend in Nevada that wants to
become a Home Inspector.

Complicated?  ???

40 hrs training
Exam
25 inspections under the watchful eye of an experienced inspector
High School Diploma or GED
Pay the fee

I agree it is more complicated than no licensing at all.  Nevadas requirements are easier than North Carolina.

North Carolina requires:
160 hrs training
40 hrs of apprentice inspecting
Exam
High School or GED
E&O OR General Liability and 17K assets
Pay the fee

Nevada requries 20 hrs Con Ed over 2 years.  NC requires 16 hrs every yr of which 4 must be the mandatory state class.  Can't repeat the same subject in 3 years.
