TOPIC: Client on roof

I was just thinking that. How many of you guys want to inspect the attic & roof of a home you purchase? I'm sure everyone of you. I'm about to go look at a house right now that we're thinking of putting an offer on tonight and I looked everywhere I could. When the inspection does happen (HIP inspector of course, actually 2), I'll be poking my head up there!

I was told "not you" on a property I was buying once by my agent. She said I would be in a "spot" if I needed to back out based on my "inspection". I had a roofer do the cert and someone else do the inspection.... although I did look around... alot.

What!!

Maybe he should of gone up on the roof with you so you could of pushed him off!!

I am really sorry that your client is a low life and skipped out on paying you your deserved fee.

Keep calling him and try to get your money!!

I feel for you, unbelievable.

I agree, NEVER let anyone onto a roof with you. Way too much liability for you should something go wrong and somebody ends up injured or worse.

Do any of you get payed before the inspection?  Did any of you ever have a guy walk away on you without paying?  I talked to a lawyer.  She said not worth the trouble getting your money.  Small claims court would still be two appearances so quite a bit of time involved. 

In 8 years so far, I was stiffed by an agent on a WDI inspection, and have had one bad check that I could not collect on. Use of the credit card has helped with out of town clients. So over all not to bad for me. I collect at the end of inspection. Sometimes I am payed ahead of time with the use of a credit card.
