A client followed me on the roof.  The Realtor made clear that she would not be responsible were he to fall.  We were just done the roof so we got off without making an issue of it. Had he fallen, would I be liable?
Do you let them follow you on the roof?
Thanks.

Never, never, never.  My ladder is not used by anybody but me.  When asked, I have explained that my insurance company does not allow use by anyone else.

There is nothing sweeter than the smell of fresh cut grass on a baseball infield, the click of a wooden bat and the taste of a hot dog at a warm sunny daytime double-header.

Absolutely not.  I get nervous when a client starts asking "Can I come see?"...NO...That's why I take PICTURES and give you a REPORT!!!!  ;D

I arrive a half hour early and do the roof before the client shows up. I do this to avoid the situation.

Bert

You hit a nerve with your post.

No one but me goes on my ladders!!
Yes you would be liable.

I had an argument with a contractor recently that was on my ladder looking in the attic.

Just show the client the photos you take on your camera.

Part of being an inspector is keeping the clients safe.

If spite was still an available option you would receive one. (Opposite of karma and Dom took off)

Please do not let the client on you ladder.

Thanks for the replies.  I am inspecting a house for the same client this afternoon so it may come up.
