I cover the Greater Houston and Galveston area.  The average inspection in Houston is about $225.00, but, my minimum fee is $375.00.  This usually averages to about .17 cents per square foot.  The pool is an additional $75.00.  There are very few requests for radon and very few crawl spaces here in Houston.  I will usually travel within a 75 mile radius and charge $50.00 for anything further than that.  The typical termite is $85.00 plus tax which is $92 and change. 

Hey Dominic, Jim Pillsbury here here are some of my costs.

For for houses 1800-4000 I go 495.00 and same thing I give them a 50.00 dollar reduction and for each increase of 500-800 s.f. I charge 100.00

4. I do not inspect swimming pools.
5. I do not do termite inspections but since I did this one company's repair work for several years I can generally point out termite tubes and paths and also areas they inhabit.
6. I have a 50 mile radius and after that it is 1.00 per mile or an hourly rate of 50.00 per hour. Depends on the client and their needs
7. I recently took the infrared class and when I purchase my camera I will raise the price of my inspections to what I do not know
8. Radon and mold inspections are pending
9 Along with the IR stuff I am going to take the Energy Audit course, being a general contractor I deal 3 companies that do calculations for Title 24 requirements.
