TOPIC: One of my four mock inspections

Re: One of my four mock inspections 15 years 4 months ago #16433

I've tweaked this one a bit from the suggestions I received.  I should have looked it over better before I posted it originally.
Thankfully it was "practice" and not a paid inspection.
Again, let me know what ya'll think.

John, if you want multiple bedrooms or bathrooms just click Edit Template, click on Bedroom, click Copy and make a copy for each. On your next job if you have extra's go to Report Settings->Section Colors & Print Options and uncheck the rooms you don't need.

Your reports looking good. There's a lot to learn when using a new program!

Hi John,

I think you did a good job for your first basically sample-trial inspection report, and had the courage to let folks critique it.

You did great and they only get better with time and experience, you should be proud of it.

I bet it took me two days to do my first report, back then there wasn't much software available, Microsoft was about the only thing available to add pictures to the report and it was a nightmare.

With great software which Dom has it will make your job so much easier when it comes to writing the report.

In not much time you'll have it mastered along with the inspection process.

Good luck and keep us posted, I bet the second will be twice as good as the first.

Hey Dale,

Great to see you around ;) I think you're right. John did a good job for his first mock inspection.

Does that mean actual total size or operational opening size? Opening size would be approximately less than half total size.  Also, this window, one of two on that wall, exits to a roof and they are the only means of escape from the second floor should a fire make it impossible to get down the stairs.  In hindsight, I should have noted that in the report as well.  However once on the roof, one could reach the ground but it's about a seven foot drop from the eave.  I suppose it is better to risk injury in the drop rather than face smoke inhalation or worse....
