TOPIC: Couple quick questions on how the templates work

Couple quick questions on how the templates work 6 years 8 months ago #64325

Hello, I'm sorry if this has been asked before but I didn't see it while trying to search.

First of all, if I change a narrative while performing an inspection does it change that narrative forever in the template or just for that inspection? Some times I want to change the wording of something but don't want it to affect my template.

Second, is there a way to make a field that cancels out everything if the first question is marked N/A? An example would be if the customer didn't have a pool. The residential template is set up so you have to click N/A for about 20 different items for all the pool stuff, but I want to click a box stating no pool and have all of the other fields disappear or change to N/A so one click is all I have to do if they don't have a pool. This would be handy for lots of fields!

Thanks for the help! Dale Pynenberg

Hi Dale!

You can change whatever you want but if you don't click Save Template, it's only changed in that report. If you move a comment to the red/black side and then modify it, it'll only save to the inspection. Even if you click on Save Template. If you change a narrative on the left side of the red/black buttons and click Save Template, it'll save to your template.

When you generate the report you can uncheck the pool page and it won't print at all. Note that most inspectors no longer use ratings at all though of course you can if you want!
