Is it possible to create a report having just the categories for main systems and components? Is this achieved by designing your own template? In my previous software as an example, any plumbing issues would be in one single section - and not room by room. It didn't matter if it was a clogged tub or a leak in a 70 gallon HWH.

Yes, you can definitely do this. You can create your own template to have the single system approach. If you click Open Template, take a look at the Texas template which is basically a system by system report. You'll want to click on Report Settings->Options and turn off the Texas cover page if you use the template though. Watch a few of the animated tutorials on editing the template. It's pretty simple once you see how it works and it's all based off the Edit Template button. You can also download some of the templates others have uploaded to the Template section of the message board.
