Hey Julian,
I'm going to send you an email link to a new version I'm working on that has a new algorithm to reduce the photo size. I've been working on it and testing with a few other inspectors. Dominic |

OK, the version you sent works great! The pictures look the same regardless of the starting resolution. Now, the link you sent was for the Windows version (I use a Mac but could open it with Parallels), can I assume the Mac version will use the same algorithm?

Yes. The Mac & Windows versions actually have 95% the same code. The only differences are to get the graphical display to work properly on the Mac. For some reason Apple doesn't like to follow rules regarding some parts of Java so I have to tweak some things to get buttons the right size and lined up properly.
Thanks for testing it out! |

Hello all, new user to this program and it is great!!!!! One question though pertaining to picture resizing. Is there any way to resize them in the current software build? I have spend the past weekend customizing the software and to be able to resize the pictures would make a great program that much better.

Hi Paul,
The software automaticaly resizes all images when you perform a batch import to 400 pixels wide and compresses with an agorithm to keep as small as possible without sacrificing quality. The pictures used in the report average 1/100 of the original file size. That's why our average PDF is 1.5 megs versus 5-12 megs with some other programs. There is no need to resize before importing into the program. Dominic |
