TOPIC: Percentage of New Comments

Please only answer the poll if you've done at least 10 reports with Home Inspector Pro. That way you've had time to modify your report. Also, once you post your poll result, if you'd like please let us know approximately how many reports you've done and what your answer was in a reply to this post. We're taking a look at how the program is laid out and how effective it is at reducing new comment usage. You can change your answer with time as your library improves.

Only issue I have with the poll is that even when canned comments exist they often need to be massaged.
I am maybe going to have a comment under drain for leaking in place that can be clicked  but my reports are higher end, in that i am going to include more detail such as......

Leaking under the kitchen sink basin on the left side due to the basin attachment not having the gasket in place.
This is also due to the fact that the P trap needs to be cut shorter in order to give the trap an appropriate angle for connection.

(as you can see stored comments only go so far)

The guy clicking only, is faster but far less comprehensive in his comments

His entire comment may consist of .........Leaking

Don't include comments that only needs a few words changed as the new drop down boxes will make it so you won't need to type on those.

I undertsnad what you're asking and why (I think). 

But the answer is really, IMO, more dependant on the property than anything else.

A 2 bedroom condo in good shape may need 2% new comments while a POS single family home may near 90%.

Its also dependant upon the inspector and how much detail (specific to the house) he wants to go into.

Those are the ones that need individual Maintenance tips and recommend ideas.

It just depends on your level of service.

I understand it varies quite a bit, that's why I was asking on average to try and get a good idea. I also want to know how much the drop down boxes will reduce new narratives.
