Re: Editing template 15 years 5 months ago #15099

Dominic,
how do I add a new Item, i.e SFB Appliance, into Main menu and move it up or down. It seems that I can add a new item, but it goes to the bottom of the main menu, but I can cannot shift it up wher I would like . It can be moved up if I left click and drag it, but it will drop into another section, say "bathrooms", but will not remain as the main item in the main menu.
any suggestions?

BTW - where can I read up on improvements in the updated version of HIP?

Thanks

Hi Frank,

To move an item up or down in the printed report go to Report Settings->Section Colors & Print Order. Make sure to Save Template when you're done rearranging. This is also where you can set a section to not print.

You should have gotten a complete list in your email, but there's discussion and the list here: www.homeinspectorpro.com/inspector-forum...or-Pro-2.6.6.8-Beta/

Yes, I know about the printed report. I was just trying to better organize my template.

also, is it possible somehow to cut and paste comments from windows or other documents into the sections using right click mouse - it would really spped up the template setup ? Currently if I try to bring in comments from outside  and right click it in the add comments window I get small square where the pointer is, but cannot bring in the comment.

Thanks

Oh I see what you're saying. Yes you can rearrange your menus (folder next to them) too, just drop one menu on top of another and it'll push it down. Pages (with dot next to them) can be rearranged by dragging onto another item or into another folder.

CTRL-C to copy and CTRL-V to paste if you're coming from another program (make sure you've clicked in the Add box first). Right click won't work as we're using it for spell check right now. We're working on a way to combine these in a future version.

If you're moving from another template or from another part of the same template you can use the copy and paste buttons at the top of the program.
