Hello, I new to the board. I currently have a business doing foreclosure maintenance. I want to get into doing home inspections. I was wondering how you all went about getting your licenses (classrooms, online, CD's, ect) My only option is to buy one of those "At home training kits" because of where I live. Does anyone have good or bad experience with any of the kits available. I would appreciate it if y'all could give your best advise in which route I should take. I wouldnt worry much about me being competition for you, I asked my realtor about the number of inspectors in my area (Carriere Ms, Picayune Ms.) and she said there are only a couple licensed in this area. I thank you for any advice you could give with your experience.
Thank you Brian @TCB |

Brian,
FYI... the world is much bigger than the above two choices. Seems you need to do a lot more 'due diligence' before limiting your options. This following link is a great example of why you should never seek the advice of a Realtor... most are less than entirely honest... (from just one Association you did not list above... 14 inspectors within 30 miles of Carriere, MS.) www.inspectorseek.com/results.php?q=Carriere%2C+MS&range=40 Seems you have a lot more competition than your Realtor let on, hmm? |
