In another discussion forum, Dominic wrote " I've seen about 80%+ of guys using Home Inspector Pro no longer print reports ".
I guess I'm wondering if thats true? Am I doing too much for my buyers? I do print on site, place in a binder and present and review summary items with the buyer and buyers agent. It does take time, but every one likes the attention and explaination if there are questions about any summary items. How about a poll, please reply as: I print on site I sometimes print on site I never print on site How do you print on site? George |

Never print on site. Never have, and don't have any plans to change.
Only ever print a report if the client does not have email. Usually agent has email and send to agent so they can print for client. All reports are emailed to client and if Ok'd by client also to agent. My goal is completely paperless transaction. State requires a signed contract. I have NOT gone to electronic signature yet so still print and store signed contracts. |

To clarify, No I do not print, It costs more money, a lot more. Consider the time involved, ink, paper, machine etc. Times have changed and going paperless is the way to go! You don't want your clients waiting around in a vacant house while you sit in your truck trying to print... Go home and e-mail it. They can go to Kinkos and print it if they need a hard copy.

Ben, I am confused. You imply you print onsite but you leave the site and use a 3rd party to generate the hardcopy report.
Does the client stand around onsite for the hour it takes you to drive to Kinkos, print, bind, and return? Or do you mean you send a hardcopy report to the client at some time after the inspection? Can you fill in more of the picture please. |

Printing onsite I feel make us look to "boiler plate" and doesn't give us the time we need to really customize the report and produce a custom quality report.
