TOPIC: Ladder Lock

Ladder Lock 14 years 7 months ago #30574

I saw a nifty safety product the other day. Some of you may be familiar with it, but if not you may want to check it out. It is a clamp-on ladder lock that prevents an extension ladder from sliding. The one I saw in use was clamped to a gutter, but it also works on fascia and other situations. Of course you still need to use caution when clamping to a building component so that you do not damage the component but it will work in a lot of situations. Go to ladderlockusa.com for a short demo and further info. I am waiting for a response from the mfg. regarding whether it will work with my Little Giant. Stay Safe.

It looks like a good thing to have.  I can't see why it wouldn't work with a Little Giant.  I wish there would be some indication of price on the website.

Bert:

I received an e-mail response from John Ferris of ladderlockusa.com tonight and he said it does work with a Little Giant ladder. The contractor who was using it on a job I was on said he paid less than $50 for his.

Thanks.  It sure beats a bungy cord.  I like that it can clamp onto a metal roof edge and a drip edge as well as an eave trough.

Bert (and all Forum participants):

I ordered a ladder lock last week. It was on my doorstep two days later. I have used it on two jobs and it it works as advertised and also works well on my Little Giant. For less than $45 (US) it is a great piece of security, anything to remain in one unbroken piece. I assume that it can be shipped to Canada easier than a tablet pc. All the best.
