TOPIC: "Very Informative Website You Have. When Can Yo Do My Home Inspection?"

I cannot possibly take all the credit for this phone call, because I couldn't have done this without the help from Dom and all you critics on this message board.

Here is the scenario. My phone rings and it is a home buyer looking for an inspection. He tells me that he has been looking over my website for the last 45 minutes and wants to know when I can do his home inspection for him. We go over some information and set up a time and get down to price, which is not an issue with this guy. That is nice for a change.

I ask him why he needed to look at my website for 45 minutes before deciding to hire me as his home inspector. He says, " I didn't, I had decided within two minutes that I was hiring you, but there is so much great information there that I wanted to just check everything out."

Now, that just made me feel awesome. I booked another home inspection and got a great review of my website. Thanks Dom, and all of you who have critiqued my website or shared your ideas on how to make all of our websites better.

Sweet!  You do have a great site Ian, I know, I've spent plenty of time there myself!  I'm hoping my sister decides to build a home soon here, I liked your "Build In Progress" slide show.

Thanks Casey. Building my site was a challenge, but "The Build In Progress" was very fun for me to do. I highly recommend every home inspector to do a project like that, whether they put it on their site or not, as I learned quite a bit by doing that. I think we all learn from each other and that in turn helps our profession in general. You just like to get phone calls like that once in a while, ya know?
