TOPIC: ASHI InspectionWorld Las Vegas

Well, the weather sucks, but the event is excellent so far.  Looks like a nice turn out, each of the three classes I attended today were standing room only, (about 150 - 180 per class).

Dom is without doubt the most popular vendor in the entire show.  He's had a line of people waiting to talk to him most of the day.  The other software vendors, not so much.

Dom, if you read this message, I'm having dinner at the Red Rock Resort Steak House at 7:30 this evening, if you're anywhere near hear, dinners on me!

I'm going to try and meet Dom the Inspection World "Rock Star" tomorrow...

I'm so sorry I missed this message!! I haven't checked the boards until right now.

I didn't know you were here!! But you're right, we've been totally swamped! Thankfully between CharlieAnne helping answer questions, Serge, Bob Walstead and a stream of other Home Inspector Pro users there's been at least 3+ people to answer questions at any time. It's pretty awesome to be explaining the program to a group of 4-5 guys and turn to my right (we have 2 tables) and see Serge, Charlie and another HIP user each talking to another 4 guys!

I lost my voice the first day but did much better today.

Will, I'm giving an hour talk at 11:30am tomorrow in the back sections they have for vendor showcases. Otherwise stop by any time so we can finally meet in person!!

It's been great meeting all the other HIPPIES here and seeing a lot of other guys again. I'd say 40-50 of our users have stopped by to say hi!

Sounds like fun, how much you paying Serge and the other guys!!

Hey Dom!

It was great meeting you today.  Another busy day for the Inspection World "Rock Star" to be sure.  Sorry to see you and the other vendors leave tonight, (That sucks).  Once you got outside and witnessed the weather, I certainly hope you decided to spend one more night here in Vegas.  If not, drive "Safe" my friend.....

BTW, one of the registration staff mentioned they had 760 attendees, nice!

Looks like next years ASHI Convention is on the east coast in Atlanta.

It was great to finally meet you too!

Today was definitely crazy. It was surprising that they closed the vendor section a day before the conference. I talked to dozens of inspectors that didn't know that was going to happen just an hour before closing time. At 4 PM they shut off our power, there was no messing around!

The numbers were definitely great. We gave out over 150 CD's and our software showcase was standing room only.

Hopefully these numbers are a sign of things to come. It's much better than the 300 that have been at the last 3 conferences I've been to.

This is your cub home inspector reporter, Serge, reporting from the Bally’s Las Vegas, at the ASHI Inspector World Conference.

Attendance to this year’s ASHI Conference was well north of 700 inspectors.
There were countless exhibitor booths here, and SEVERAL inspection reporting software vendor booths.

However—there is one that stands out and is unique: Booth #421, HomeInspectorPro Home Inspection Software.  At this booth there was always  a gaggle of home inspectors—sometimes two to three deep—all listening to Mr. Dominic Maricic as he expertly touts the features of his product and services.

I can tell you that this HIP product must be good because there is hardly any “traffic” in front of the other software vendors. Dominic talked non-stop all day, 7:00AM to 7:00PM.  I could not get a word in edgewise, to interview him for this report. His voice got so bad that, by the end of each day, he sounded more like Marlon Brando, in the Godfather.

Now, you would think that it’s Dominic’s friendly personality, knowledge, professionalism, and his superior HIP software that draws all these inspectors to his booth…but you would be dead wrong!  No, No, No, Dominic sneaked in his secret weapon—his beautiful fiancé—the incredibly charming, CharlieAnne.
Guys just could not keep away.

All I can say is that, we all here at the HIP community, better stop being so demanding and whining and just give Dominic at least a couple hours—maybe up to a whole day off—so he can marry Charlie already!
