I charge by the square foot. By the total square footage of the house, not finished square footage. Charging by the finished square footage does not factor in the most important and time consuming area which is the basement.
Does that sound right to the rest of you that go by footage? |

Joe, I don't charge this way, but it makes sense to me. If you are going to charge by square footage, get paid for all of it, not just 2/3 of the house, right? Good luck.

What's a basement? I operate in the land of slab and crawlspaces. Only see a basement one in 200 homes. Most of them are finished space so are counted in the total living space.
Yes, if you are charging by the square footage, then charge all the feet you inspect. |
