OK. Am I alone in thinking it is offensive when this happens:
I get a call from a person requesting an inspection. I return the call only to find it is the clients agent. When i ask agent for the CLIENTS contact info, they are hesitant to give it. " WHY DO YOU NEED THAT..." I've been asked. duh!!!! I got in to a short discussion about how i would like to speak directly to the person who will: a) Sign the pre-inspection agreement. b) Pay for the service i am providing. What can we do as PROFESSIONALS to help people understand that we do not need the person who is selling you the home to control the home inspection, and that we are not sub contractors for realtors. Even more annoying is when you tell your client something., you leave the room and the agent is totally underplaying and minimalizing what you have said, stopping just short of promising everything is in great condition and will last forever. Message to Realtor Agents- Do your Job and leave us to do ours- please back off. |

I just send the agent a blank form and have them fill in the details and fax it back.
if it is a check for payment i call the agent and say i will pick it up the next day and they can get it from the client or give me a credit card number to hold the inspection |
