TOPIC: PDF fill fields

PDF fill fields 15 years 2 months ago #21008

I have my contract in a PDF form. I would like to have it where I can have enter text into the fields, like client name instead of handwriting the text. My understanding it can be done with a static PDF, but you need the full Acrobat program, it won't work in the free product that I have. Does the PrimoPDF allow this? Or does any program allow this? I do not want to recreate my contract and pay a bunch for a program.

Why are you handwriting the text in the contract? Just use variables like $ClientName1 and it will fill into the contract automatically.

Acrobat Pro or Nitro PDF (much cheaper) will allow you to create fillable forms but I don't see the need.

I am entering the client name, address of the inspection, price and stuff. I am not using the contract in HIP. Or can I load my contract into HIP? I usually email them a copy a day ahead of time so they can read it.

Of course you can load it into HIP, that's why there is a contract section! Click Contract, save it under File->Save Contract. Then you just hit the printer button to generate the report. You should always email it at least a day in advance and have them sign it and send it back to you if possible. Make sure to copy it from Word to Notepad first to remove any of Word's formatting. Then paste it into HIP.

Will it populate the client name and fee and the address?

Yes when you generate the contract. That's what the variables are for. There's a list of them in the Beta forum or in the email you received with the features for the last version.
