TOPIC: Would you walk this roof??

Have been painful is not the proper term Davin.  Still really hurting might work...

Seems every inspection we are at risk for an injury and hazards.

This time of year the morning frost can be tricky.

Jay, I am sorry about your past injury and lingering pain.

I hope we all get smarter from are past experiences and we all live long healthy lives.

I fell off a roof 3 years ago due to a slippery deck and will never place a ladder on a deck again.
I was bit in the butt last summer from a dumb dog owner.

I get poison ivy annually. I get stung annually.

HA!  I am the guy who is "the first person that dog has ever bitten!"  I hear that all the time...

I have actually fallen off roofs three times (once when I placed a ladder on a deck too).  The first two times I caught myself.  This last time I was 44 years old and despite being in great shape running marathons I was unable to handle the kinetic energy of my weight.  My ladder was fully extended to the edge of the roof, so it was a long fall.  At the end of the fall I landed more on one side than the other and that and the distance did me in.  I literally dragged myself up on one leg and hopped to the truck, and drove myself to the hospital.  The clutch was difficult and really painful!

All in all it is still a mess.  There has been serious deterioration in the joints of the left leg ever since.  I was saying to my wife just this morning that it is time for another visit to the orthopedist for some updated X-rays because the pain is worsening. 

We are not invincible and always have to pay attention.  When there is snow cover I never go, but what can you see when there is snow?  A whole missing patch of shingles could be invisible and after the people move in they will say that since we were on the roof we should have caught that!

I blame the owner on this one as I was getting ready to leave as I was walking down the drive with both arms full, the dumb owner opens the car door as I walk by and does not have enough of the leash. I f had waited 5 minutes or even till I was past the car I would of not been bite.

I called this dumb *** every name I could think of. Now that my hands were free bring it on!!
I was very upset at the owner.

Glad my client walked away from his house. He paid in the long run.

No blame on the dog, just the dumb dog owner.

Well David, thank God the bumble bees didn't get you or you didn't get poison ivy on this one.
