TOPIC: I finally got my first FPE panel.

Ah, the joy of writing up the fact that your home has a severe fire hazard! It was a big one too.

I especially like the brown scorched look of the breaker labels.

Sean, did you find anything wrong with the panel besides the name of the mfg and the double tap?

Its hard to tell but it looks like there are 3 wire taps on the buss in several locations.  But the scorched labels would have me a little worried.

I think the labels were just darkened from age. Paper does that when it's 30 plus years. There were plenty of things to pick apart, including double taps and many grounds and neutrals stuffed in one screw hole. I just told the buyer replace it for the simple fact of what it is. He agreed. No sense picking through a turd just to find the corn right!
