From what I can tell the only unit with battery life over 6 hrs is the
2go Convertible Classmate PC NL3 / EC10IS2.
So for that reason I think I will order that one and just to confirm I should upgrade from 7 starter to 7 home for better handwriting any other pointer would be great.

Are you using the Windows 7 built in software or their add-on? Also make sure you're on the freestyle writing and not the letter by letter screen. Dwayne, get Win 7 Home.
