I am replacing a dead notebook and in looking at the CTL convertable classmate they give the option of various levels of Windows 7. If I load Open Office, is there any thing that I will be missing by not purchasing Windows Office ?
Thanks, Don |

Open Office has most of the same capabilities as Office. You won't have Outlook is all. No biggie if you don't use it. It has the equivalent to Word, PowerPoint, Access and Excel and will deal with MS Office files just fine.
Why spent the money when you can get what you need for free? ??? Optionally, you can find legacy versions of MS Office on eBay for a decent price. I got Office 2003 for about $80 I think. Dana |

What Dana said. No reason for Office on your CTL. If you ever do need it down the road you can always but it then. OpenOffice is great.
