TOPIC: Apple's new IPad Tablet

Re: Apple's new IPad Tablet 14 years 4 weeks ago #30620

Until they make it so that it can run more than one application at a time it will be extremely unlikely. You can't even hit generate report and open up acrobat as Apple has made it so that you can't multitask unless it's a program written by Apple. They also aren't supporting Java & Flash which means I'd need to completely rewrite the program or work on some sort of conversion. There's quite a bit of speculation out there that the next version of the iPad will run a operating system closer to a full Mac which means it'll run just fine.

As far as speed goes, it's running a 1ghz which is 60% slower than that $399 CTL2go (1.6ghz). Which is another problem as it'll have a hard time resizing photos taken at high resolution due to lack of power.

Keep us updated on it though. I'd like to know how it handles. Interesting that you can type fast on it. I was expecting that it would be much slower using the screen as a keyboard.
