TOPIC: Puter question

anyone know why when I click my mouse on my desk top it double clicks even when I click once? I will click to open a new window or browsers  it opens 2 firefox browser windows. I check setting on the mouse and have change mice with my other pc and still same thing. I also has problems when I high lite text to copy and paste or cut and paste..

Hi Baffled in Hemet,

Sounds like you have single click enabled:

1. In the Tools menu in Windows Explorer, click Folder Options.
2. In the Click items as follows section, click Single–click to open an item (point to select).

If that's not it then you have your mouse sensitivity too high. Go to your control panel and open the mouse section and adjust your double click.

Dom, where is the tools menu and windows explorer? I am running vista..

Dear Baffled,
I too run Vista...go under your Control Panel, Hardware and Sound, there should be a small clickable "Mouse" button.  Then select the "Button" tab to change your double click speed.

Click on Computer, if you don't see it at the top click on Alt-F and the menu along the top will show itself.
