Does IE crash after opening, or are you seeing this within explorer?

Dom, IE will open to my home page and then about ten seconds later it disappears and tells me there are problems. I have tried using Firefox but it crashes before it even opens. I tried doing a system restore but there is only one point in there since my last update, which is strange in itself, but that does me no good. Any ideas?
