TOPIC: DMOZ editor

Anyone know how to contact an editor on DMOZ for a specific category? I wanted them to list my city, it said to contact an editor for the category, but I do not see how to do that.

Usually you can't. Most categories don't have an editor directly, you have to go higher up the category tree. What category were you trying to submit your site in?

For those who don't know, DMOZ is VERY particular and has stringent rules. I'm actually one of the editors for another category. There's so many submissions that the bad ones get tossed aside. Make sure to use your real company name. In your description you can put Performing Commercial and Residential Inspections in ....

Well, according to them you have to list in the city you are located. This is the tree as it is called Top: Regional: North America: United States: Illinois: Business and Economy: Real Estate: Inspections, at this point I can only choose Chicago, my city is not listed, only Chicago is listed.

I went to this tree Top: Regional: North America: United States: Illinois: Business and Economy: Real Estate: By Locality, and my city is not listed there either.

I then went to this tree Top: Regional: North America: United States: Illinois: Localities: O: Oak Forest: Business and Economy, and there is no real estate category.

It seems confusing to me. I would like them updated. Maybe I should be an editor. LOL

It's very hard to become an editor, took me almost a year to be approved. You need to submit yourself in the closest category put yourself in the Chicago Inspections and just mention Orland Park in your description as well as Chicago.
