TOPIC: Windows virtual memory minimum is too low!

What's the deal here? I am getting error messages stating, "virtual memory minimum is too low". Anyone else getting this?

Yes, I have had this issue numerous times. I have a computer guy stopping over this morning to go over my 3/4 computers and try to help me resolve my computer issues.

It seems you need to have at least a gig of ram.

I thought i was the only person having issues!!!  I purchased a new computer thinking I resolved the problem only to discover more problems.

The first thing that comes to mind, at least for me is this conflicker worm. This probably is not the case, but when you go along for a long time without problems then this shows up and it coincides with something like that, it makes you wonder. The funny thing is I only get the pop up window with the error message nothing else is affected.  ???

Change your virtual memory settings.

I used to get that every time windows had to adjust memory usage (before I added another Meg).

Drew, when are you getting this message? How many and what programs do you have open when you get the message? How much ram do you have installed (right click on My Computer and click properties). I've seen HIP run fine on machines with 256 megs of ram, but if you try to import 100 photos windows is going to tell you to increase the virtual ram.

I was getting the message when I had two HIPs open side by side. I only got the message twice.

When I right click my computer I read: Mobile AMD Anthlon 64 Processor 3400+  2.19 GHz, 448 MB Ram.
the virtual memory was 664 MB i increased to 800.

Coinciding with the messages my computer has become very slow on the internet. I think it is time for some maintenance.
