I am finding that the company info is not staying after I enter it. Next time I open and start an inspection, I have to enter the info in again. The only thing that stays is the company name and my name. License number, address, web site, etc. has to be re-entered.
The template to open on default feature appears to be a little lazy as well. I have made new templates and have checked the one that I want to open as default, but it does not always open as default. I am using bulleted (periods) option between observations. When the red observations are shown, the first one has a black dot with red lettering and then if there are more red observations, those dots following are then red along with the text. Is there a way to get the first red observation to display the red dot? |

The dot issue has been fixed in 2.6, which you'll get for the Mac this weekend.
The default template and the company info is all stored in the same file, the CompanyInfo.enc. So it would make sense that if the data is getting cleared that you would lose everything it stores. I'm not sure why it wouldn't though. I know it's working fine on Windows, and I don't think any Mac people have complained about it. The company info is set to automatically save when the program is closed, or a template is saved. Try updating all your info then saving a template. Check out the file date/time on the CompanyInfo.enc in your Data folder and see if it updates when you close the program or not. That would tell me if it's being written to or not. |

I did what you suggested about filling in the information and saving the template that I want default as well as checking the box. I closed the program and re-opened it and I did not get the template that I selected as default and I did not get the saved company info. I looked at the file and the last time it was modified was April 10th. So something is goofed up somewhere with my program

I'll test it out on my mac tonight at home. Something isn't triggering the save routing for the company info file. I'll let you know what I find.

Hey Robert,
I tried on several different macs. I finally found a program to remote control macs so I can remotely help inspectors running macs now too and have tried it on a few of their machines over the past few days. On every machine it worked fine. After thinking about this for awhile I finally realized why it's not saving properly for you. Because the program is written in Java there are a few limitations I have to work around. One of them is that I can't control what happens on a Mac when you close the program by clicking the program name in the top left corner and clicking on Quit. If you close the program by clicking on the red x instead in the top left corner or by clicking on File->Exit then the the part of the program is tiggered that saves the company info. I bet you're closing the program by clicking on the program name, then quit right? If so, try it the other two ways and see if things save properly for you. |

Dominic, yes, when I close using file-exit, the company information stays and the default custom template opens every time I open the program. I was exiting the program using the name of the program and selecting quit. Thanks, Dominic for the terrific software.....Can't you design and manufacture an Apple Tablet??
