TOPIC: Section & Tab Verification Before Printing

Well it happened again.... I "forgot" to select the attic and pool sections and the report went out without them. The Realtor wrote back to remind me. How embarrasing. There has to be some way to prevent this from happening.



How about a "missed report section alert"?

Say you click on the interior tab, then all the items open under interior. Say you are racing through a report and you miss a section. Like I have baths, kit, laundry, plumbing, attic etc. I fill out the entire report but I forgot to open the laundry section. Then I review the report before sending it and did not even notice the laundry was not included.

The only idea I have for this is the all the templates tabs are one color, like the blue/gray they are now. If you hit "generate report" and did not select a tab or section, the section word or tab shows up red (or whatever color) alerting you that you forgot to click on it which means you did not fill out that item.

Or maybe when you hit "generate report", a message pops up: laundry not filled out, either complete section or go to "report settings, print order and uncheck section.

I'm always nervous that I am missing something, so I keep checking and double checking.

I do have the colored tab item on the to-do list. From what I'm understanding though, you're saying you didn't have the attic or pool page checked to print. So even if I do everything that we've planned on, the programs not going to tell you that you skipped a section you told it to skip. Let me know if I'm misunderstanding you. Did you forget to set it to print, or forget to comments on it at all? Are we talking about entire pages, or just items within a page?

I guess both sections and tabs. I have tab ideas in the previous note but for sections maybe at the end it could alert -  "missing sections, pool, baths, roof,"  then 2 choices, accept/ insert sections then generate....  Or no choices, maybe just the alert -  "missing sections, pool, baths, roof,"  then you know to repair the report....

The problem is that they aren't missing if you've unchecked them in the Report Settings->Section Colors & Print Order. I guess we could add an option to make that page popup every time before printing though.

Is there a way to automatically print whatever sections you have used in your report and if there is one section you have used you don't want to print for some reason you could unselect it. The default would be all sections not selected when you start the report and only sections you use would auto select.

Under Report Settings->Options->Item Options->Print Items Even if No Comments are Selected will print all items (i.e. walls, ceiling, floor) when checked whether you comment on it or not. If you don't check it then it will only print the items that you comment on, check a box on or add a photo to.

Under Report Settings->Section Colors & Print Order you can uncheck any pages you don't want to print.
