TOPIC: Theme 12 Global Edits/Overrides

Hi folks,

I'm just getting started on my new HIP website. I really like Theme 12 (city skyline at sunset) for my dedicated IR site, however there are a couple of things that I would like to change if possible (I don't think it is, but you never know until you ask).

First up is the normal font size, which is very small in this theme (especially for 50 year old eyes). I would like to be able to bump it up in size a bit. I know that I can do this on individual content components but want to make the change globally (navigation menus, etc. are also very small and hard to read). Is there any way to make a global CSS change to these templates?

Second up is the header image. I like the stock image, but would like to trim it remove some of the black space at the bottom so that I can get more content above the fold. I know how to edit images, so modifying the image itself is no problem, however there does not seem to be an option to provide a custom header image on this theme. Is it possible to replace / alter this image?

Hi Chuck,

I think you're talking about Theme 14. Currently, 14 is one of the last themes that doesn't have the ability to change out the header image. We're going to be rolling out a dozen new themes and an updated system shortly. At that time I'll edit 14 to add that option in. The new version also allows you to adjust all the colors and we're adding the ability to change font sizes too. You could use theme 10 right now which is also dark and edit the top header image and get close to the same effect.

Yes, I was referring to theme 14. I'll go ahead and work with the other theme for now. Looking forward to the update to 14.

No problem. You might find you like one of the other new ones even better. The great thing is that it takes 2 clicks to change your entire site to a new theme

Thanks! The next iteration which is in it's final stages of testing really expands the flexibility of each theme to the extreme. I'm looking forward to finishing it up. I have a big ASHI conference next week in Vegas and InterNACHI conference the week after in Edmonton then I can get back down to releasing it to all.
