TOPIC: Themes Board

I am working in Theme 37 for another inspector. I am just curious why all the headers are not more user friendly. There just doesn't seem to be the room needed for logos and slogan and site info. I can make custom headers for most of the themes, but you do lose some SEO. If it is possible to have them more flexible it would be appreciated.

Hi Mike,

You don't lose any SEO by using custom headers, that's what they are there for. The defaults are made to be as easy to use as possible by most people. Most inspectors have a hard time doing things that might be simple to you, like resizing images. Because of this images need to be automatically resized to make things easy for them. Then you can use blocks if you're more advanced.

Being that these are brand new themes though we're open to hearing any feedback you have on them!

I am talking about taking the header and using GIMP or PHOTOSCAPE to make the header, I will lose SEO that way. I do not like having small logos, I think the logo needs to be whatever size the inspector wants. Theme 37 for example, the logo and the text only populates on the left side of the header. The text gets bunched up with the logo.

I have tried to use the header block, but when I try to use it I can only configure it, I do not get the editor to place an image or text or change what is already there.

I took another stab and made my own block and I like where it puts the logo. I think it looks good there. I like where the name and slogan are also, except for that space to the left of the text in the header. Is there a way for the text to move over to the left? www.grayslakehomeinspections.com

If I sound cranky it is because I am. The sprained ankle that I thought I had; turned out to be three broken bones, the heel, the ankle joint(talus) and the navicular bone. So now I am immobilized and can't do inspections for 6 weeks.

OUCH! When did you find that out? When I saw you a few weeks ago in Chicago you were getting around (albeit slowly!).

Yup, the text should be moving over when you have the logo turned off. I'll check that out later (I'm working under the house right now and just quickly answering a few questions).

Found out Monday with an MRI. Anyways what is the deal with the existing blocks not showing the editor?

Look at the header now. Does anyone think the text should be another color other than black? What are you doing under the house?
