TOPIC: Customizing a new theme

Customizing a new theme 12 years 6 months ago #48530

I am trying to customize my new website theme--Theme #5.  I'm having a number of problems.
1. My "Book your inspection page" doesn't display properly.  I compared the source code of my page with the source code of another Theme 5 page, and it looks like my page has parts of the source code of the edit page pasted on it so that the formatting dashboard is visible. Also I noted that the size of the text boxes is different on my page from that of the one I used for comparison.  Can I get the right source code for this page??
2. On my "What we do Page", it's written with Verdana Medium, but three lines in the middle of the page keep on displaying in Verdana Small.  Looked at the source code (but I'm not an HTML editor type) but don't note anything obviously wrong (to me). Help??
3. Bulleted Lists: Can't seem to get a bulleted list with a blank line between the bullets.  Can I do that, if so, how???
4. I'm trying to display organization emplems two or three abreast in the content section. Tried the table trick, 1 row,2 columns, but the emblems don't want to stay centered in the columns. Can I do that?? How??

Any and all help will be very much appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

I think I can help with the bullet list.

If you use plain text editor and insert a <br> after the </li> for each bulleted item it will add a blank line in between.

That should say insert a br tag between <> but the post above was reading the code and inserting a break.

Thank you, Jon.  That sounds like it will work--it also sounds like it comes from experience!! I'll try it.  hanks.

Yeah html is fun. It's not meant to have double spaced bullets so Jon's trick should work.

1,2 you probably have the same issue where you've copied content from another site. Highlight all the text, then click the eraser button to remove all formatting. Then you can format as you want. It's better to set the default font under your theme settings too.

4. Make sure to click the icons and click the center button. Check the html code too as sometimes the code you're using has left or right justify on it. If that still doesn't work surround your image code with
<center>image code</center>

Hi, Dominic:  Thanks for the reply.  I don't think I managed to adequately describe the problem I have with my "Book your inspection" page.  Take a look at it yourself, http://www.advantagegreenhomeinspections.com/book-your-home-inspection-here.html , you'll note that two of the text boxes have the active FCKeditor, which I don't think should be displayed to the public???  What I did was to right click on the page to take a look at the HTML source code. That doesn't allow me to edit anything, and I know so little about source code anyway, that I wouldn't edit any if I could.

What you see is how the page displayed after I changed to Theme 5.  I haven't added or deleted anything to that page. I would like to have this page display properly and function the way it should.  That's what I need help with. Thanks for your time and effort.
