I'm looking into buying a few more URLs for future expansion. Trouble is, most of the (city name)homeinspection.com URLs are taken in my area. Looking at Google AdWord, I find that searches for "home inspection" get 450K hits per year, and "property inspection" gets 300K hits per year. Not bad. Since I purposely left the word "home" out of my company name so I could expand into commercial inspection, I'm thinking about using (city name)propertyinspection.com for new URLs, and what do you know, they're available in my area.
Any opinions pro or con? |

You DEFINITELY want Home. Add The in front, use singular , plural, whatever. You do't want property though. Remember your domain name doesn't have to match your company name and you can always get another site for commercial (many have).

Dominic is right (go figure ). People are buying "homes", investors buy "property". There may be a niche for both, but by the numbers you put up, "home" has 50% more hits than property.
You can also try addin "my" or "your" in front of city name. Also check for homeinspection(cityname). |
