TOPIC: Home Page

There is a link to a home page in the left bar and there is one at the top; they don't bring me to the same page though.  The one at the top brings me to a page with "Welcome to your new Drupal website!"  How do I change this? Why is this like this in the first place?

At some point you changed your home page url or edited that menu link. Click on Menus and look at the primary menu. You can delete that listing or edit it and just type in your home page address.

By home page address you mean something that looks like this? www.kitchenerwaterloohomeinspector.ca/home-inspector-home.html

I entered that and it shows up in the spot where it says -Parent item:
when I click on the home button it still comes up as "Welcome to your new Drupal website!"

The address in the address bar is this:
www.kitchenerwaterloohomeinspector.ca/

didn't make any further changes but now it's working. 

Your home page URL was home-inspector-home.html like you said. That has to be exact what's entered under Site Information for the home page to work properly. Glad it's working okay now
