I've installed Google analytics 6 times now. I paste it into a block, wait a day, and nothing works.
Google says it's not installed. Anyone else have problems and might have hints as to what I'm doing wrong? I've left that block visible for now so you can see how I installed it. |

Joe, the code should be invisible on your site. Whenever you're posting code on your site you need to click the SOURCE button and then paste the code in the block and save.

I realize it should be invisible, I left it visible so you could check it to see if I did something wrong.
Please explain in detail. When I click the source button, <b /> appears and then is at the end of the code I paste. Then when I go back into the block, the box is empty until I click source. Is that correct? Remember, I can't read between your lines, I'm just an inspector ;D |

Yes, that's exactly correct You won't see anything unless you click the source button.

You need to add your company name and site slogan (Home Inspections in list 5 cities) under Site Information or you'll be hurting your rank a lot. You can turn them off from displaying in the header under Themes->Configuration for your theme.
You had two problems with your analytics. First you had it set to not show up on any pages. Second you have: var pageTracker = _gat._getTracker("UA-xxxxxx-x"); The xxxxxx should have your ID in it. Somehow you got generic Google Analytics code there. Log back in and get the code for you. |
