I produced this tutorial to help any of you that use large quantities of photographs in your inspection reports. Many of the pictures that we take are out of sequence because they are chronological in the way we conduct the inspection. When you bulk upload your inspection photos into the report they may not appear in a logical sequence for the report reader. This is a systematic approach of renaming your photographs so when you upload them they will all be together. This helps you assign the photographs to the proper tabs in the reporting software. It puts photographs in the logical sequence of the report. It keeps your narrative sequence in line with the photographs sequence without jumping all over the place. This is particularly useful if you use multiple cameras or sources of diagrams that you upload in the photo section (such is thermal imaging combined with Digital's). Utilizing shortcuts from the computer keyboard speeds the process up considerably rather than using the mouse so consider refreshing shortcuts for cut, copy, paste, select all etc. Often there are times when we take pictures at different parts of our inspection that are related to one another but they scattered across our picture file folders on our cameras. This process categorizes the photographs once they are assigned to the individual tabs so they're in a logical sequence with how you report versus how you conducted the inspection. Hope this gives you some ideas to keep your photographs organized in your reports. |
